Oakland Tribune March 28, 1926

Multiple lead stories on the front page of the Oakland Tribune on March 28, 1926 were dedicated to announcing the opening of a new residence for young women, owned and operated by the Y.W.C.A’s Blue Triangle Club, and designed by noted Oakland Architect Charles McCall. The building, called “a masterpiece of architecture and construction” was inspired by the Spanish Colonial and California Mission styles and is noted for its earthquake resistant and waterproof stucco. Almost a century later, our building’s high ceilings, ample sunlight and large common areas continue to inspire residents and visitors.
